At Mueller's Orchard in Linden, you can pick the apples and see the apple cider and doughnuts being made. The orchard is located close enough to the city to be convenient, but far enough removed for the "country" experience.
This is what keeps customers coming back since 1941, said Jennifer Mueller. Jennifer is new co-owner of the business that was started by her father, Bill. "Bill and Marie chose to establish the orchard due to their passion for growing fruit and working outdoors," said Jennifer. "Bill was very satisfied with the property because of the elevation," she said.
The orchard itself sits on 100 acres in Fenton Township, taking advantage of its high, hilltop location, which protects the crops from frost.
Since it opened, Mueller's Orchard has been a family-operated farm. Today, Mike Mueller runs the cider mill, and Jennifer manages the bakery. Charles and Wendy Mueller work in a consulting role with the family business.
